Join us for Dance Camp 2024! Here is what your child or teen intern will experience as they focus on creativity and the pure joy of dance in a warm an upbeat community!

 

All-Camp Morning Warm-up:

The day kicks off with dance sequences led by our skilled instructors or Guest Artists. This upbeat and fun warm-up sets the tone for a productive day of dance and choreography. Our famous Name Game encourages campers to get to know each other quickly!

 

Technique Class:

 Whether your child is a beginner or more advanced, our technique class aims to refine skills, expand dance vocabulary, and maintain ballet basics. The format includes correction and exploration in a modern dance style.

 

Snack on the Patio:

Outdoor snack time provides a break and an opportunity for your child to connect with fellow dancers, make new friends, and enjoy the summer morning.

 

Choreography Workshop:

 In this workshop, your child will work creativity in a noncompetitive setting. In small groups, organized by age and level, campers explore components of dance structure to create their own  unique pieces.

 

Lunch and Sharing Works-in-Process:

During lunch in the theater, groups can present their works-in-process.  Engaging discussions about the creative process behind each dance piece add depth to their experience.

 

Friday Morning Performance:  

Works in Process performance for family and friends!

We invite families and friends to join us to see the dances each group has created.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Special Dance Camp Events:

 Throughout the week, special events include Guest Artists from Lydia Johnson Dance, Pizza Thursdays, Friday morning performances for family and friends, a Rock and Roll Dance Party, Movement Games, Dance on the patio, Group Discussions, and Craft Projects linked to dance for our younger campers.

 

Dance Camp 2024 isn't just a camp; it's a community of young dancers celebrating movement, creativity, and the joy of dance. We invite you to share in your child's experience of both skill building and creative composition
